From 3b2cf800afaaf4eec53a237541ec08bebc4c1a0c Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Jouni Malinen Date: Fri, 23 Jan 2009 21:57:43 +0200 Subject: [PATCH] WPS: Lock AP Setup on multiple AP PIN validation failures If a Registrar tries to configure the AP, but fails to validate the device password (AP PIN), lock the AP setup after four failures. This protects the AP PIN against brute force guessing attacks. --- hostapd/hostapd.conf | 5 ++++ hostapd/hostapd.h | 1 + hostapd/wps_hostapd.c | 52 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ src/common/wpa_ctrl.h | 1 + src/wps/wps.h | 13 ++++++++- src/wps/wps_common.c | 14 +++++++++ src/wps/wps_enrollee.c | 2 ++ src/wps/wps_i.h | 1 + src/wps/wps_registrar.c | 8 +++++ wpa_supplicant/wps_supplicant.c | 2 ++ 10 files changed, 98 insertions(+), 1 deletion(-) diff --git a/hostapd/hostapd.conf b/hostapd/hostapd.conf index 24709eeb2..9f9d7e3a3 100644 --- a/hostapd/hostapd.conf +++ b/hostapd/hostapd.conf @@ -956,6 +956,11 @@ own_ip_addr=127.0.0.1 # to external program(s) # Note: With wps_cred_processing=1, skip_cred_build should be set to 1 and # extra_cred be used to provide the Credential data for Enrollees. +# +# wps_cred_processing=1 will disabled automatic updates of hostapd.conf file +# both for Credential processing and for marking AP Setup Locked based on +# validation failures of AP PIN.
